Chuck Liddell Living it Up
Chuck Liddell Living it Up

I'm a big Chuck Liddell fan.  After he beat Wanderei I really though he'd make a comeback and regain his title.  I mean who were the other contenders at the time?  Forrest Griffin?  Rashad Evans?  Those dudes would never be Light Heavyweight Champs right?

It's about a year and a half later, and two KTFO's later, and it's pretty clear that he's well past his prime.  That and guys just know how to fight him now.  Do I want to see Chuck retire?  I think it would be best for him to.  He could have a nice career suiting up for the UFC in the day and still partying like he always done at night.

Problem is he seems like he doesn't want to retire for whatever reason.  His trainer is going around talking about "One fight left" on his contract.  And Dana White has made his stance on Liddell continuing to fight very obvious.  It seems the UFC is trying to sell off all Chuck Memorabilia and will probably induct him into the Hall of Fame.

I think the UFC might be going about it wrong.  Just let Liddell mull things over for a few months and he'll probably decide retirement is the best route.  Pushing it on him this way might turn him into the next Ken Shamrock.

Roger Huerta Walks Away From the UFC

Roger Huerta has announced that he will not be re-signing with the UFC.  Huerta recently told Sherdog that he would not be signing on with the UFC and other media outlets have recently confirmed.

According to Huerta, he intended to re-sign but "all that other stuff came up."  That other stuff being acting and/or modeling.  Huerta has been criticized over his decision by many in the MMA community who say that walking away would make it difficult to return.  Huerta insists that his relationship with the UFC is very strong and that he wants to eventually return.

"The UFC is my home," Huerta said. "They are my family, and eventually I should be coming back to them."
